This Free AI Agent Just Beat $200/month OpenAI Operator 🥂

A free autonomous agent, no-code RAG pipelines, and 5 tools to supercharge you - Here’s what actually matters.

Hey, Tamil here,

AI’s not slowing down and honestly, this week it felt like 5 months of progress crammed into 5 days.

⚡️ Today’s Insights:

1. A free autonomous AI agent that outperforms paid tools

2. A no-code RAG system that works without embedding anything

3. OpenAI’s new workspace integrations

4. Mistral’s entry into AI IDE war

5. Claude Code for Pro users

6. LlamaIndex x MCP updates

Let’s unpack it:

Today’s Insights

Runner H: A Free Web AI Agent That Just Works

While OpenAI Operator and Google’s Project Mariner stay stuck behind paywalls and waitlists, Runner H went live in public beta - no subscriptions, no friction, and surprisingly good.

This thing can:

  • Browse sites

  • Pull data

  • Book flights

  • Recap Gmail

  • Send it all to Notion, Slack, or Sheets — with a single prompt

And powering it? Their new vision-language model, Holo-1 (open sourced under Apache 2.0). It’s trained to actually interact with UI, not just “see” it.

92.2% accuracy on WebVoyager at $0.13/task.
🔥 Beats GPT-4o. For free.

They also launched multi-agent orchestration using Surfer H + app connectors + a reasoning engine. Honestly? This is the most practical web agent I’ve seen drop this year.

NoEncode RAG - Query Without Embeddings

FedRag’s NoEncode RAG

This flipped the usual Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline.

Instead of encoding your knowledge + query and comparing vectors, FedRAG’s NoEncode RAG lets you query raw data directly in plain language. No retriever model. No vector DB. Just real-time context and a generator.

Works beautifully with MCP servers.

Highlights:

  • Skip the embedding pipeline entirely

  • Access live sources via MCP (APIs, files, DBs)

  • Add custom scoring & reranking logic

  • Still supports fine-tuning with FedRAG classes

Big win for those of us tired of managing huge vector indexes.

Quick Bites

ChatGPT now connects to real workplace tools like: Gmail, Drive, Outlook, Teams, Linear, SharePoint, Box, Dropbox for Teams & Enterprise

Also: custom MCP connectors are now in beta.
You can build internal knowledge search agents finally.

And one more thing:
“Record Mode” is rolling out for Mac record meetings or voice notes, transcribe, and use that context directly in ChatGPT.

If you’re on the Claude Max plan, you now get access to Claude Code - the coding optimized interface.

Details:

  • Shared limits between Claude & Claude Code

  • ~225 messages for Claude or ~50–200 Claude Code prompts

  • Shared usage window (5-hour cap)

Good for bursts of code generation, not full-day dev.

Built on the open-source Continue project, Mistral Code is Mistral AI’s full-stack coding agent suite.
It bundles:

  • Codestral (autocomplete)

  • Codestral Embed (code search)

  • Devstral (multi-step generation)

  • Mistral Medium (chat)

Bonus: You can fine-tune it on private repos and run everything inside your own infra.

They’re aiming to take on Cursor, Windsurf, and Copilot and it’s looking sharp.

LlamaIndex now lets you convert any of your agent workflows into MCP servers.

Use workflow_as_mcp() and boom. It becomes callable from other agents, tools, or clients.

Helper functions make auth and tool access easier, and you can now string multiple agents across different MCP servers like it's nothing.
